Our Coal-Derived Building Materials are Coal Reimagined.
Founded in 2020, X-MAT CCC is the result of the successful research and development of Coal-Derived Building Materials. As the technology has continued to develop, moving from development to greater scales of demonstration, it made sense to be located closer to the abundant coal resources.
Located in Bluefield, WV, we are excited to be a part of the Bluefield Commercialization Station, a manufacturing-focused incubator located in an old, recently renovated Freight Station.
We are changing the narrative on coal. In 2020 we received a $500,000 contract from the Department of Energy’s Office of Fossil Energy to design and develop a Carbon Based Building, and we are well on our way to making the dream of a Coal Based Building a reality.
